In this episode I sit down with Chelsea Cush - a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and faculty member at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Sciences.
I've super grateful for meeting Chelsea! She's invited me into her classroom to talk about creating and owning a small business and managing all of the risks involved in such a venture. It's always a pleasure to be in a room with other entrepreneurs fielding real-world questions.
Despite having little prior knowledge of the death care industry, I found the conversation to be incredibly engaging and informative. Chelsea's ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and relatable manner made the conversation both enjoyable and educational.
During our talk, Chelsea shared her reasons for becoming a funeral director and emphasized the importance of the role in helping families find closure and meaning during their time of grief.
We also touched on various green burial methods, which I found to be particularly interesting.
This episode is a testament to the importance of following one's passion and being true to oneself. Chelsea shared that her mother's message of "always be true to yourself" was a guiding principle throughout her career journey.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to speak with Chelsea and learn from her.
